Founder/Director: Lyndsey Kotsch Dip.T.(Primary), B.App.Sc.(OT), M.Ed (SEN)
Lyndsey is a qualified teacher and occupational therapist and has been awarded a Masters degree, with distinction, in special educational needs from Oxford University, UK. She has been an educator advising teachers on inclusion and curriculum adjustments for students with disabilities, had leadership roles promoting excellence in service delivery, and managed various allied health services, including a family support program. For most of her career Lyndsey has worked with people from cultures different to her own. Over the last ten years, Lyndsey has been working in Far North Queensland, but before locating here, she worked in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, in three states of the USA and in East London, UK.
Co-Founder/Director: Rudolf Kotsch BEd (Prim-SpecNeeds) (Hons)
Rudolf is a registered teacher, qualified with an honours degree and major in special education. Prior to teaching, he coordinated a Robotics Club for young adolescents with an Autism Spectrum Disorder for three years, gained practical experience as a disability support worker and travelled extensively as he worked as a toolmaker (trade qualification). At GSL Rudolf provides tutoring, contributes to the multi-professional team delivering the learning and life skills program for young adults and is a part of the GSL: care team offering respite and individual community support.
For Lyndsey and Rudolf the very grounding experience of having two-school aged children consolidates their clinical and professional experience. They know first-hand the importance of a nurturing and caring home and community.
