Moving into adulthood is exciting!
This stage in life presents a whole new world of learning for young people living with a disability. The end of formal education and the routines provided by school often results in fewer social connections and anxiety surrounding ‘what happens next’?
GSL has identified over the years that this is a common experience for many of our young people and as a result the Learning and Life Skills Program was born.
The Learning and Life Skills Program aims to provide a tailored service to meet the varied and individual needs and goals of our participants. We focus on continuing with core literacy and numeracy studies, increasing independence skills and improving social capabilities.
The program is conducted in a group setting to provide the opportunity for participants to share experiences, learn from others and further develop their social skills in an adult learning environment.
